It is difficult to organize a poker tournament. It is important to consider all factors and decide which type of poker you want to play.

Help! What number of chips should I buy and what values should I use for each one?

It can be difficult to put together a poker group. It's important to carefully consider many factors, and to think carefully about the type of poker that you will be playing.

There is no regulation regarding the chip breakdown in a poker set. That is why so many people gamble with the set. Many times, you end up with lots of chips that you don't use, which is a waste. Don't worry! We have provided tips and explanations to help you make an informed decision.

How many chips do I need?

We use the following rule to determine how many chips are required:

Up to 6 players can use 300 poker chips

Up to 10 players can use 500 poker chips

Tournament 20 to 30 players: 1000 poker chips

Your playing style and your wishes will determine the amount of chips you need. As a tournament organizer, you might need more than 1000 chips to provide your players with a huge pile of chips. This number is easy to calculate. We are always available to help you if you need it.

Which values should be included in my set of values?

Poker-chips.eu makes it easy to change the chips breakdown for almost any poker set. No poker game is alike, and everyone can come up with their ideal poker set.

It is common to choose too many values that are close to one another. The easiest rule of thumb is to ensure that the next value within a set about is between 4 and 5 times higher than the previous value.

An example would be:

value 1

Value 5

Value 25

100

To much distribution would be:

1

Value 2

Value 5

Value 10

25 value

Value 50

100

It's very easy to exchange chips between players or through the dealer, or even the pot, in case a player runs low on chips. In a 1/2 cash game, the big blind can be accessed by a player who has just 5 chips. The dealer may then exchange the value 5 chip for value 1 chips.

The best thing about the first distribution is that it's easier to calculate the played pots than the second. Calculating is much easier and faster when there are fewer colors or values of chips in the pot. You can play more hands per hour because of this.

I'm aware of which values have it. But, how much do I really need from each value?

4 values is sufficient for a group of 10 people. The majority of people can work with a percentage ratio between 30/40/20/10 and the highest to lowest value. Choosing the Perfect Poker Chips
