This allowed her to buy a million dollar home for her family. However, she sold her rights to her annual payments for a lump-sum sum. Lee filed bankruptcy at age 60 and was left with $2.5m in debt. Abraham Shakespeare. Shakespeare won $30 Million in a Florida lottery. He was later murdered three years later. According to ABC News the 47-year-old victim was shot twice in his chest by DeeDee, Moore who had become friends with Shakespeare following his win in the lottery. Moore was found guilty in 2012 of first-degree killing.


4. Denise Rossi. People reported that Rossi, who had won $1.3 million in California's lottery, filed for divorce from her husband immediately. Rossi was finally discovered by her husband two years later when she won the lottery. He took Rossi to court. Rossi was sued for not disclosing her winnings at the divorce. He won every cent.


5. Jack Whittaker. TIME reports that Whittaker was already millionaire prior to his 2002 win in West Virginia of $315 million. Four years later, Whittaker claimed he had gone bankrupt. Tragedies struck his life. His daughter and granddaughter died from drug overdoses shortly afterwards. Whittaker was also robbed $545,000 sitting in his car in a strip-club. Lotto Myths and Legends
